      this is not a several hundred dollar oscilloscope, having said this, it is an oscilloscope that does pretty much everything I wanted an oscilloscope for. it doesn't really come with instructions, but I do feel that the interface is very intuitive. I got this figuring it would be a cheap oscilloscope, I really feel like it's a better quality than I thought it would be. in my opinion, this makes an excellent tool for the amateur mechanic that needs basic oscilloscope functions.

        Q: From the specifications am I right to assume that this cannot withstand contact with a 240 volt mains supply signal if the oscilloscope probes are set to x1? As everyone does make mistakes I wouldnt consider an item that cannot withstand exposure to the maximum voltage normally encountered and whilst I am looking for a device like this would prefer to purchase one that has the ability to be connected directly to the mains supply without the risk of failure because of it relying on a switch having been selected on a probe rather than being designed to handle it inside the device itself
